When you need to know...you need to know! And when it comes to homebrewing and winemaking, tracking your progress down to the very smallest detail can mean the difference between a good batch and a great one.

The Brewery Essentials Herculometer® Advanced Gravity Test kit has it all... Power. Precision. Perfection. Each virtually indestructible hydrometer is forged from rugged polycarbonate plastic, so you won't have to worry about your hydrometers breaking right when you need to take a reading. Plus, we've divided the scale into thirds and increased the range on each hydrometer, so you can get the most precise readings possible. It's easier than ever to gauge the exact specific gravity of your beer, wine, cider, or mead, from a high gravity of 1.130 all the way down to a finishing 0.980.

Power. Precision. Perfection...all rolled up in The Brewery Essentials Herculometer Advanced Gravity Test Kit.

Easy to Use, not 100% calibrated

Once we got these we tested all 3 in water at 60 F. Only 1 of the 3 was spot on. The other 2 were off slightly so we have calibration corrections we apply to them.

Strong but inaccurate

They measure about .004 below what the true calibration should be. But they definitely don't break as easy.

accurate and easy

Found out my Tilt was accurate after all once I got this set. My "cheap" hydrometer was off by 5 pts ... great set with nice rack.

Works great

Hydrometers check out with water, work great

They work but are not accurate

I got these because I kept breaking my glass sets. These have not broken yet, so have accomplished that aspect. The reason these are not getting a 5 star is due to the lack of stated accuracy of +/- 0.001. I bought the set with all three hydrometers and all three are off by -0.015 gravity points. I calibrated each hydrometer with at least 5 different sugar solutions of varying gravity’s with in the range of each hydrometer. At least one at the top and bottom of the range and a couple in the middle to ensure the scale was not stretch or compressed at any point. Each hydrometer was off by the exact same -0.015 gravity points in all the reference solutions. Not a big deal as I just compensate by adding 0.015 gravity points to all my readings, but obviously they have some quality control issues or need to update their accuracy on the website. If you get these hydrometers then make sure to calibrate them or recognize that you probably will not be getting an exact reading, which may throw off your efficiency numbers.
