ProMash

ProMash is the first and last word in homebrew software. You punch in the numbers and ProMash gives you a detailed printout of your recipe, determines your mash schedule, and factors in things like evaporation rate and hop utilization. This feature-heavy program also has a unit conversion calculator, a hop degradation calculator for alpha acid loss over time, an IBU calculator with three different formulae, a water profile calculator, and a water needed calculator. ProMash calculates volume lost to evaporation in boil, strike water temperature, and the effects of additives on your brewing water. It's also got a carbonation calculator, hydrometer adjustment calculator, wort dilution calculator, alcohol percentage calculator plus databases with BJCP style guidelines and profiles for every brewing grain, hop variety, and yeast strain you'd ever care to use. The only thing it can't do is pour you a beer.

ProMash comes on a compact disc. It requires a Windows PC, but can also be run on a Mac using Virtual PC, and Linux using Wine.

BeerSmith Brewing Software

BeerSmith is an elegant and simple Microsoft Windows-based program for keeping track of your beer, cider and mead recipes and batches. BeerSmith has a complete recipe database, a list of all commonly used brewing incredients, a beer style database, and a large set of tools that make it easier than ever to create your favorite brew. With BeerSmith you can create a recipe by just picking ingredients from a list, and then print a complete set of brewing instructions. Suitable for extract, partial mash and all-grain brewers—from beginner to advanced. Sorry, not available for Linux or Macintosh.

"The Labeler" Software

Easy to use label making software — compatible with Avery or 4th and Vine labels. Obviously we like The Labeller for creating labels for beer and wine bottles, but it can also be used for business cards, return address labels, invitations, etc.
