Dry Beer Yeast
ATTENTION, HOME BREWERS: This isn’t your grandfather’s Dry Yeast! Home brewing dry yeast has come a long way thanks to huge advances in the growing and processing of these dry yeast strains, today’s dry yeast pack all the fermentation punch of liquid yeast cultures in a more stable, affordable package, with a much longer shelf life. Plus, dehydrated yeast cells remain best-in-class when it comes to handling extreme fermentation temperature fluctuations without missing a beat.
Only select yeast strains can withstand the dehydration process, and we’re proud to offer a proven assortment of over 20 Lallemand and Fermentis dry yeast options, including Danstar yeast and SafAle™ and SafLager™ strain varieties, such as SafAle US 05. Fermentis E2U™ (Easy 2 Use) designation on all SafAle™ and SafLager™ strains states, these adaptable yeasts can be pitched directly into your wort, without the need for yeast rehydration.
Though dry yeast manufacturers put yeast cell counts at a minimum of 55-66 billion cells per standard dry yeast sachet, our brewmasters and the brewing industry's experience estimates the true number to be between 88-198 billion cells per standard packet. With progress like this, no wonder Dry Yeast remains the brew day workhorse used by millions of homebrewers worldwide.
