Product details

Ideal for exceptionally vigorous fermentations, this blow-off hose keeps the krausen from blowing your airlock or bucket lid, avoiding a mess of foam and stress of air exposure to your fermenting beer.

Clear 1" ID / 1.25" OD vinyl tubing. Fits directly in the neck of standard or acid-style glass carboys (#7003, 7004, 7006, and 7007). Also fits Big Mouth Bubbler® Universal lids. Immerse the other end in a bucket of sanitizer or clean water to manage blowoff during primary fermentation. Available in pre-cut lengths of 3.5ft or 6ft.

It's just a hose, so there's not too much to say...

I used it with a bucket fermenter. I bought a grommet, drilled a hole for it in an extra lid and I was all set. The only reason for a 4-star review is this thing is STIFF. It's hard to get a nice 180 deg bend without a kink.

Blow off hose is a must have!

The blow off hose saves my rug (slab foundation is too cold in winter) a lot of time on cleaning the aftermath and the whole fermentation. It always blows in the middle of the night and that let's a lot of air into the wort. An absolute necessity for big beers.

Blow off tube

Switched to the blow off tube instead of using the 3 piece air lock.
I sometimes get a very aggressive fermentation using US-05 yeast that blows the top off of the 3 piece airlock.
