Apollo Hop Pellets – 1 oz

Apollo™ is a super high-alpha American hop developed by Hopsteiner and released in 2006. Known for its exceptionally high alpha acid content and low cohumulone levels, Apollo™ provides a clean, assertive bitterness, making it an excellent choice for bittering additions. When used late in the boil or for dry hopping, it imparts flavors and aromas of grapefruit, lime, orange, pine, resin, and cannabis.

Apollo Hops Overview

  • Flavors: Grapefruit, lime, orange, pine, resin, cannabis
  • Primary Usage: Bittering (also suitable for late additions and dry hopping)
  • Best Beer Styles: IPA, Pale Ale, Stout, Barleywine, Imperial IPA
  • Similar Varieties: Zeus, Nugget, Columbus, Magnum, Millennium

Background

Apollo was bred from Zeus and a male with (98001 x USDA 19058m) lineage. Its high alpha acid content, excellent storage stability, and disease resistance make it a favorite among brewers seeking a reliable bittering hop. When used in late additions, Apollo contributes a pleasant aroma that complements a wide range of beer styles.

Dank

This is the first time I've used Apollo hops. I read about people thinking they smelled a little funky like onion (which I love in hop aroma) and they didn't disappoint! I used them to bitter (super smooth bittering), whirlpool (great flavor and aroma), and double dry hop (very pungent, dank, oniony goodness!).

Very nice

Added at the start of the boil - gave a great deal of bitterness at initial tasting (end of boil). Great aroma upon opening package. Added an additional ounce at end of boil for aroma. Still in secondary, but aromas at transfer were good. Looking forward to this one.

1st time using Apollo

Haven't tasted this recipe carbed yet, but bottling day gravity sample indicates a definite winner

Just what the title says. That's what you want from an on-line supplier and that's what Northern Brewer gives you.
