The Big Mouth Bubbler® Universal Lid is just like a traditional carboy bung, only bigger! Just as easy to sanitize and set in place too. Ribbed silicone rings ensure a positive seal to keep out pests, while the non-threaded design allows the lid to move preventing an out-of-control fermentation from dangerously pressurizing your fermentor.

Better yet, the port is perfectly sized for all your standard homebrew tools, from a universal carboy bung and standard blowoff hose to a testing thief and auto-siphon.

Easy to clean, just pop it in the top rack of your dishwasher and run it through a standard cycle. You can also use your standard homebrew cleaners and sanitizers.

Big Mouth Bubbler - It Fits, but.....

Okay, as the title implies, the new lid fits... but for what ever reason, that sucker does not want to stay on. I saw that this was a common complaint but the carrying strap that came with the Big Mouth Bubbler does a pretty good job of keeping the lid down. But be sure that strap is tightened or you may have unwanted oxygen added to your brew.

What I was really disappointed in was that all I needed is the gasket for my original lid as it deteriorated and was falling apart. Good luck trying to find just the gasket.

Although the new lid fits, I am only giving 3 stars because the reasons stated.

Big Mouth Value?

I've sent reviews for these in the past. My only issue with them is that they are very overpriced and I feel ripped off. Looking for another similar product that doesn't make me feel bad when purchasing.

I left the 5 stars on the review, 'cause you-all give outstanding service, but I'm sending the lid back 'cause it's not what I wanted. The product description is misleading: it may be universal for the jars you sell, but I bought it to fit my antique jars, all of which have the same size wide mouth -- just not the size of your "universal" lid. The product description lists the diameter of the cork hole, but not the diameter of the neck of the jar it is designed to fit. I should have called to ask your excellent customer service team. Buyer beware.
