My Favorite Grain

Mecca Grade is a family farm and small batch maltster in Central Oregon. Fantastic product. Great people. If you're going to home brew great beers, start with excellent malt. Lamonta is my go-to base malt.

Worth the cost

Mecca Grade Malts are long known as "fancy"--there is no easy way a commercial brewer could make a profit from such high prices--but on the homebrew scale, it's well worth it! Lamonta offered me in my IPAs a nice roundness to the body that I couldn't get with just pilsner malt--I highly encourage you to take a look at Lamonta is you want a good deal more sweetness and complexity.

Great base malt

I use mecca grade (either Pelton or lamonta) as the base for all of my beers and I absolutely love the flavor that it brings.
