Product details

This American IPA beer recipe kit has a relatively modest gravity and a hop character best described as immodest, bordering on scandalous. And all that heady hop aroma and flavor comes entirely from a single hop variety: the rising star we call Chinook.

Long used by US brewers for bittering additions, Chinook hops only recently gained a passionate following among beer-lovers for their aroma and flavor. And this recipe kit combines the best of those qualities alongside premium ingredients to produce a delicious, hand-crafted IPA.

Chinook IPA is a bit lower in gravity and lighter in body than other IPAs, which enhances the perceived bitterness and reduces the aging requirements. It shows up in the glass with a reddish-gold color and a thick, resinous Chinook aroma that lingers after the glass is emptied.

Very good beer, I used a yeast type Kveik Ale to ferment at a temperature of more than 77 F, and it was really good!

Love this beer. Kind of a piney/ cedar taste to the hops. I call this beer “Cedar Camp IPA”

Perfect for getting back in the saddle again

My first batch of beer in about 7 years. Have been working like a dog for the last few years and haven't had time to make beer, only drink beer. I decided to take another swing at it and this was an easy recipe, just had to concentrate on the technicals of sanitation and timing. I sampled after 4 weeks (only 6 days in the bottle) and was pretty disappointed since it didn't taste as I expected. But it was just a bit green. It needed to sit another week and now it tastes very nice.

My current batch is also an extract brew, but a little more complex, the black IPA. It's still in the secondary fermenter. Now I have to decide what kind of whole grain recipe to get next...

Love the beer, the friendly final notice not so much.
