Product details

The Tilt Digital Hydrometer and Thermometer is at the cutting edge of new digital devices made specifically for the homebrewing community. This free-floating gadget acts as both a real-time gravity testing hydrometer and thermometer from inside your fermenter during fermentation.

Being able to check your fermentation status from your compatible Apple iPhone/iPad, Android smartphone/tablet, Tilt Pi and most Bluetooth 4.0+ Bluetooth devices means virtually no susceptibility to contamination or oxygen pickup in your fermenter. Data can be saved automatically to the cloud with free Google Sheets template or your own, favorite 3rd party cloud platform.

Multiple Unit Users: If using more than one Tilt Hydrometer and Thermometer at a time, you must use a different color Tilt for each batch. Apps will not read multiple hydrometers of the same color. Northern Brewer offers 8 different colors for multiple, simultaneous fermentations.

Tilt-thought maybe extravagant, but…

I have a perfectly good hydrometer. I’m a small batch home brewer, hadn’t heard of the Tilt until the day I bought it. I love this gadget. Before first use I calibrated it, checked my OG with the hydrometer then put the tilt to work. I had the same OG reading on the tilt. My brew area is in our RV garage. It’s nice to be able to pull out my phone and check the SG and temp at will. Since I do have two beers fermenting at one time, guess I’ll buy a second. Very happy with the Tilt product!

Exactly what i needed

I do ferment with big mouth fermentor inside a fridge with its A409 control, but i was never sure what was the temperature of wort. With this device i feel sure that i pitched yeast at the right temperature and keep monitoring gravity real time. I am happy with it.

Tilt Hydrometer

Works as advertised. A handy “tech” gadget. My only complaint is this. The Tilt device looks much the same whether inside its “package” or outside. The instructions say to remove it from its package and proceed with setup (which is very easy). But I, like several other users, mistook the box as the “packaging” when in fact the packaging is the clear tube that contains the hydrometer. So my first use of the Tilt was a bust because I left it in the tube. After recovering it from the fermenter at racking and removing it from its tube for the next batch, it worked perfectly. I’m not very savvy with the cloud logging of the gravity measurements, but I really don’t need that level of data. Overall, I’m happy with it.

I have hooked this up to my Home Assistant sever and have no issues. Haven't used the app. But I love the just drop it in and go.
