Product details

The Pro Series beer kits have been developed in conjunction with professional brewers, using their own award-winning beer recipes.

Town Hall Brewery beer is renowned throughout the US, but only available at their amazing brewpubs in Minneapolis - until now. One of a handful of breweries to have an "A" rating on BeerAdvocate.com, it is known for producing high-quality beers in both experimental and classic styles.

An interpretation of the classic scotch ale that originated in Glasgow, Scotland. A full-bodied ale, rich in malt complexity.

Due to the high starting gravity of this kit, we recommend pitching multiple packs of yeast or preparing a yeast starter for best results.

Bronze Medal Winner, 2002 and 2004 Great American Beer Festival, Gold Medal Winner, 2011 Great American Beer Festival. "Our interpretation of the classic ale that originated in Glasgow, Scotland. A full-bodied ale, rich in malt complexity. Brewed with both English and American barley and many, many specialty malts allowing hints of roasted chocolate, caramel and raisins with very little hop presence." - Town Hall Head Brewer Mike Hoops.

Great kit

Was looking for a nice Scottish ale kit and Northern Brewer came through! This is a nice robust kit, and fermentation started quickly! Used liquid yeast, via starter, and have never seen a kit take off like that! It’s heading to secondary fermentation this week, so it will be awhile before I taste it. Pretty confident it’s going to be AMAZING!

So far so good. Transferred to secondary for what will be a minimum of 4 weeks. Got a ways to go till final product is sampled.

Batch 2

After a many year break I started brewing again in January 2023. Being a lover of Scotch Ales, my first batches were the Town Hall Hope and King, Northy 12, and Mead with my own honey. The Scotch Ale is superb. One of my most picky beer friends agrees declaring it the best Scotch Ale he's ever had. The order I was invited to review is a re-order. This is going to be one of my favorite "always have in stock" beers. The Mead is also excellent. Northy 12 and the German Altbier are in their secondary fermentors but were both inviting at the time I transferred them.

Easy to brew and fermentation went quick

Haven't tried it yet, but everything went smooth. OG was a little low but I rarely meet the "calculated" OG
