Extracts are often looked down upon, but they do have a purpose. They save time and simplify the brewing process for many hobby brewers who cannot take the time to mash. Very good ales are often made by hobby brewers who add some grain to the wort as well as using an extract. Further, sometimes something different is made. Braggot is a mead made with honey as well as a portion of malt wort. Graf, a beverage noted in fiction, is sweet cider and malt wort combined, and fermented together. Baking and brewing for millennia have lived hand-in-hand, so bread bakers should try using Malt Extract instead of adding sugar or honey to their bread.

Always reliable, always great!

I've been using Briess DME for years and have never been disappointed in the results. It mixes well, has good flavor, and ferments up to expectations.
