Product details

Gypsum (calcium sulfate) adds permanent hardness (calcium ions) to brewing water; 1 gram per gallon adds 62 ppm calcium, 147 ppm sulfate.

Brewers that use distilled, or RO, water like to add some gypsum back into the water to give it some hardness. Gypsum can also be used to lower the pH of water. Use 1 teaspoon per 5 gallons.

Brewing Gypsum is packaged in 1lb powdered bag.  Keep away from moisture after opening.

Effective chemical for adjusting calcium in brew water. The water I use from my local supplier needs adjustment and just a small amount of this product is effective.

So starting off like this you’re probably wondering why the heck did he give them 5 STARS!!!

Because it doesn’t matter what this particular product email was about. I’m more than happy with everything from grains to equipment I’ve ordered from NB. Seriously, home brew shops are far and in between around me. Being able to make up a recipe and have grains dropped on my doorstep a couple days later at a great price is unreal. stop reading stupid reviews and buy it already
