Imperial Yeast A38 Juice

While this is awesome, be careful to check all fields carefully. I was used to buying some grains one pound at a time. To my surprise, it was suddenly available in ten pound increments only as far as I could see. I wanted six pounds… forgot to change the quantity. Got sixty. Six ten pound bags, carefully nestled in two boxes. Was surprised in that case there wasn’t a fifty and a ten. Guess I should not expect someone to say that doesn’t seem right. Anyway, check those quantities carefully. Raise your hand if this has happened to you. Guess I have a good iexcuse to make more beer. (You can put your hands down now).

I have used this yeast twice now for making hazy IPAs and both times have turned out exceptionally well. I have to say though that this is a pretty active yeast during fermentation so make sure you leave either enough headspace in your fermenter or use a blowoff tube instead of a standard airlock otherwise you very well may wake up to a foaming mess everywhere like I did.

On the whole the yeast is fine, and works as advertised. Northern Brewer has decided to increase their prices over every other supplier, AND charge a fuel surcharge to skim a little more off their customers. This is my last purchase from them. They are now as bad as the oil companies, posting record profits during a crisis. Thanks for the products guys, best of luck.

Great yeast for NEIPA's
