The standard red hand-held capper is great for standard long neck bottles, but I use all sorts of bottles (stubbies, short neck, whatever I can dig out of the recycling bin) and the Super Agata is a must for those. It works great on bottles the standard capper doesn't do. I would give it five stars if the height adjustment was easier and if I didn't need to frequently grease the unit to prevent capped bottles getting stuck. But those are minor issues.
Brother brewer broke our vintage capper, so ordered the Super Agata. He struggled with this one, but couldn't break it. Good capper - sturdy.
I capped my first brew (Blue Loon) with this about a week ago and it was the easiest bottling day I have had. My old capper kept slipping and even ruined 2 caps, this one didn't have that problem. Also much faster when compared to my old capper.
Just did a practice capping on a bottle before bottling our Very 1st batch this morning .... Worked as Advertised and Flawlessly!!
This is definitely better than the 2 handle type. It should be mounted to something for best performance and I cannot do that with the space I have to work in. I capped about 30 bottles with is and the plastic piece meant to stop the lever housing from moving gave way after about 20. I will need to get another one of those. Maybe it was something I was doing wrong?
