Chardonnay Small Batch Wine Kit - Winexpert Classic 1 Gallon Kit

I normally vint 6 gallon recipes, but my wife will request a chard from time to time so I thought I'd give this small batch kit a try, and I think it's going to turn out pretty well. Initially, I had my doubts because it was extremely cloudy (from the oak I suppose), but it seemed to settle down as fermentation progressed. Once fermentation completed, it clarified nicely, and was crystal clear in 10 days. I filtered it and let it rest 24 hours, and added a pinch of metabisulfite before bottling. The 5 bottles are now resting comfortably in the basement for whenever the chardonnay mood strikes the wife...

I loved this kit! It was super simple, easy to follow, and made a gorgeously clear chardonnay. It was a hit!

This was my third small batch of wine and my first white wine. I am very pleased at how this Chardonnay turned out. It cleared up nicely and it's very crisp and clean.

I’m still waiting for this wine to mature, but so far it has aroma that fits a dry hop with Galaxy Hops. Attempting to bitter the wine with hops I completely forgot what brings out the bitterness in hops, boiling. But once I realized what I did / didn’t do, I was intrigued by the flavor and aroma. Going to let this wine sit for 2 more months before uncorking one of them to see how it matures.
