This Winter Warmer starts big and malty with a full body and spicy English hop profile. The flavor is complex malt with fruit, burnt caramel, and subtle chocolate, finishing sweet with a warming alcohol note. Similar to our Wee Heavy and Barley Wine kits, the Winter Warmer increases in complexity with age. A bottle makes a great stocking stuffer!

Due to the high starting gravity of this kit, we recommend pitching multiple packs of yeast or preparing a yeast starter for best results.

I have been making this for years, it gets better with age, problem is it tastes so good its hard to keep it around, started making 10 gallons a season now, a regular staple for seasonal drinking here in New England. Everyone I share it with loves it Thanks N.B. Kevin F..

Winter Warmer Extract

Delivery was fast as always. Easy beer to brew. Still in the fermenter for second fermentation for one more week. Will bottle on 5-4-24. I’m sure it will come out fabulous as all NB kits do.

A classic winter brew

This is my 5th time brewing this kit; this is how much I like it! It’s also a good base to experiment with.
This time I thought I would try it on the cake of Lallamand Windsor yeast. Makes a good beer, no question but didn’t really improve it. The second batch is still conditioning and I added some smoked oak cubes, soaked in Bourbon. Will be ready for New Year’s Eve.
